Established on November 1, 1960, by Late Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia with generous support from the Gangajali Trust fund, Samrat Ashok Technological Institute stands as a premier educational institution in the region. Initially offering B.E. programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, the institute has evolved significantly.

Currently, the institute provides a diverse academic portfolio, featuring nine full-time undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Technology degree and eight full-time postgraduate courses. The postgraduate offerings include five ME/M.Tech. programs, MCA, MBA, and M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry, covering a wide spectrum of disciplines in Engineering, Science, and Management.

Functioning as an autonomous institute, it receives Grant-in-Aid from the Government of Madhya Pradesh and operates under the auspices of the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Education Society. The society is led by Hon'ble Shrimant Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. Nestled on an expansive 85-acre campus adorned with lush greenery and natural surroundings, the institute continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in education and research.
